Our limited-edition yarn packs bring together changing seasonal palettes of genuine Donegal heritage weaving yarn. Each colourway contains five carefully curated shades, chosen to work beautifully together in stripes, patterns and colourful woven details.

Available in small seasonal runs, these colourways offer something new to explore alongside our permanent yarn collection. Select your preferred palette from the colourway options and use all five shades together, or combine them with a larger ball of yarn to create contrasting accents and patterned areas.

The yarn comes from the original Kilcarra Tweed range, an Aran-weight knitting and weaving yarn manufactured in County Donegal. Spun using the traditional woollen-spun method, it has the distinctive large flecks, texture and character associated with traditional Donegal tweed-effect yarn.

Each colour is pre-wound onto a reusable card shuttle, so you can get straight to the enjoyable part of weaving without preparing your yarn first.

The yarn is supplied with a small amount of spinning oil still in the fibres, as is common with yarn prepared for traditional weaving. This helps it pass smoothly through the warp and reduces catching or snagging on the loom. The finished weaving can then be gently washed to remove the oil, allowing the wool to bloom and become softer, fuller and more beautifully textured.

Its woollen-spun construction gives the yarn strength and elasticity while retaining its characterful, softly flecked appearance. It works especially well with the standard Rocket Loom and can also be used for knitting, crochet and other small creative projects.

Alpine Meadow

Pear Green, Cherry Blossom, Milk, Sprinkles and Sea Foam Green.

A light, uplifting palette of airy pastels inspired by fresh spring growth, soft blossoms and open mountain skies. Gentle greens and blush pink are balanced by creamy Milk, while Sprinkles adds a subtle fleck of playful colour.

Velvet Opera

Ruby Red, Deep Purple, Diesel, Cherry Blossom and Smouldering Rose.

A rich, theatrical palette of deep jewel tones and smoky pinks. Ruby Red and Deep Purple bring drama, Diesel adds a dark turquoise contrast, while Cherry Blossom and Smouldering Rose soften the combination with faded floral warmth.

Blackbird

Silver Birch, Dandelion, Emerald Green, Copper and Raven.

A bold, earthy palette inspired by the flash of a blackbird among woodland greens and autumn leaves. Raven and Emerald Green create a deep natural base, while Copper adds warmth, Dandelion brings a bright golden note and Silver Birch lightens the combination with a soft neutral contrast.
